“Have you ever flipped!!!!??”
This is the question I am asked the most when people find out that I fish from a kayak. It’s a legit question for sure, but I have always been surprised by the number of times this question comes up. Granted it comes from friends or acquaintances that haven’t kayaked very much. Many of them may have kayaked or canoed back in their younger years. Some have grown up fishing from a bass boat and don’t realize that today’s kayaks are far from the tippy little vessels they may have paddled years ago.

Stand-ability on the Jackson Kayak Liska.

I think there is a preconceived notion for those that haven’t paddled in a while that kayaks are unstable and that you need above average balance to paddle, let alone fish from one. Obviously, they are thinking of older style kayaks or kayaks that are designed more for speed than stability. Today’s kayaks are more stable than ever, especially fishing models. I think most people would be surprised just how stable a platform a kayak can be to fish from. Many of my friends and family were surprised when I put them in one of my kayaks for a demo.
Jackson Kayak was at the forefront in making fishing kayaks that were stable enough to stand up in and cast. Not much has changed as far as stability goes. There are many great models to choose from and if it has Jackson Kayak on it you can bet it is a solid kayak.

Yupik is great for any adventure.

Jackson Kayak even has a new pedal drive kayak called the Bite FD, for those that would prefer to pedal instead of paddle. Bite Angler is another version designed with everything you need to get you fishing out on your favorite water. The Liska is another great kayak you could demo at your local Jackson Kayak dealer. The stand-ability on all of these kayaks definitely live up to the hype.
