Is the Bite going to be fitted with E drive electric motor ? And is there any plans to make tandem e kayak in the future ? When is the E drive going online for sales ?

Hi Kristján – with the Bite FD you can swap the upper pedal unit for the Flex Drive E (electric motor), and we aren’t currently developing a tandem kayak with the Flex Drive E. We do, however, have the Blue Sky TriCat which is a side-by-side tandem that can accept two of our Flex Drive E instead of the pedals. The timeline for the Flex Drive E to go live on the store hasn’t quite been determined, but we’ll let you know when its time.

When is the Bite FD going to be available? Even local Jackson dealer doesn’t seem to know!

Can I buy the Bite FD without the FD for now so I can use in the water now as a paddle fishing yak? Then save up to buy the FD later?

I think this route would be better than buying a paddle kayak now, then reselling later to get a pedal drive later.

Hi Chas. Sorry, but we currently do not offer that option

When will this model kayak be available ? It is my ideal design . In my opinion , you have the best drive design too , but I am not a fan of large in hull storage on the bow .

Hi Bryan, yes, the Bite FD is electronics-ready and has a transducer cover on the transducer scupper – its quite handy! I’ll post up a pic for you later today.

Are the flush mount rod holder screwed in or riveted in?

    • Will Richardson

The two flush mount rod holders should be riveted on with 3 rivets for each one.

Is there already or is there in the works a front lid/covered storage bin for the Bite FD?

We do not currently have a lid. We do not currently have a plan to make one, but it has been talked about.

Where can I order a deck pad kit from? I can’t find anyone that makes one for the Jackson Bite.

Just took this out to San Luis Pass in Galveston. Choppy water and wind didnt matter. This is a GREAT kayak and an amazing value. I only put what I want on it so I can organize gear like I want it. If you want to mind your own business while fishing, wIt awhile to get it. Folks boated over frequently to look at it.
