Why Claire Loves Kayaking: I love kayaking because it has taken me to so many amazing places around the world. Through kayaking I have been able to challenge myself as a paddler, athlete and person in so many ways. I have met so many amazing people and made so many great friends. It is more than just a sport, its a way of life. I love it!
Claire is the most successful female freestyle paddler of all time, winning a combined 10 world championships. She is very competitive but more importantly is a great role model taking time out of her schedule to mentor and instruct kids at the Kellys whitewater park in the USA, through the Keener program on the Ottawa in Canada, in New Zealand with the Hawea Academy and in Australia with the Freestyle Committee. As well as coaching World Class athletes from around the world through her company Claire O'Hara Coaching and taking kids on epic expedition with Explore Expeditions. With her experience and knowledge she has used this instruction and coaching background to co develop Paddle Education, a free educational resource for paddlers around the world covering everything that is paddling related from the basic skills all the way through to the biggest most technical of tricks and skills.
