Jumping head over heels into the kayak fishing community, Henry wasted no time creating a foundation of fun and adventure in his fishing habits. He’s had much success in the state of Virginia catching trophy-sized fish on his time off from his tugboat career on the water, despite only being two and a half years into fishing. His kayak of choice, a Jackson Kilroy, provides features he was specifically keen on for his angler needs, and he also owns a Coosa for his wife Alex to use during their excursions. Whether it be paddling a local lake or floating multiple miles down river with his lovely wife, kayak fishing has brought nothing less than joy to them both. Recently, discovering a love for overnight trips on a local river stretch has helped him catch and release a personal best Smallmouth measuring 21”, which gave him his eighth trophy species. Of all the species he’s encountered, the Chain Pickerel has been a favorite to chase. His biggest pickerel measured in at 26” and was the fish that inspired the idea to become a multi-species angler chasing trophies. While off the water, he spends time on “food-ventures” to new, locally-owned restaurants and traveling with Alex to cross another national park or state off their list.
